Josh graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Dayton in Dayton , Ohio with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in History. At UD, Josh was involved with the Dayton Civic Scholars (DCS) program, which focused on community building and social issues in the City of Dayton . As a capstone project for the Dayton Civic Scholars, Josh worked with members of his cohort to develop and publish a student guidebook to the downtown Dayton area, which was targeted specifically to university students.

Josh was inspired to enter the field of public administration due to his involvement with DCS and through an internship with the Dayton City Commission. His major project for the Commission involved organizing a summer intern program showcasing the downtown area to local students interning at various corporations. Building upon his knowledge of public sector affairs, Josh obtained an internship with the Mathile Family Foundation to gain nonprofit experience. Working with the Foundation and seeing the effects of its involvement in the community allowed him valuable insight into the organizational differences between public sector work and private nonprofit groups.

Josh is currently working with the city of Mission , Kansas . He is involved with many different projects in the city, including sustainability initiatives, work on budget books, and coordinating the implementation of a new city solid waste contract. One of his favorite projects so far has been beginning work on a new community-sponsored farm, which if successfully implemented will allow residents to teach their children about agriculture and provide locally-grown produce to the community.
