Artur Bagiyants


Artur grew up in Overland Park , Kansas and attended Washburn University and the University of Kansas . He graduated from KU in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. His coursework included classes in political theory, public policy, legislative process, and state & local government.

During his third year of college Artur interned for a local legislator at the Kansas House of Representatives, where he learned about the policymaking process. Later that year he was hired by the Governor's Office to serve as assistant to the Governor's Chief Counsel. This position gave him the opportunity to apply what he learned in the Legislature. His work included review of legal documents like petitions for clemency, as well as analysis and tracking of bills through the legislative process.

Artur is currently working for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a research analyst. He has worked on projects with the Bureau of Aviation, the Office of Chief Counsel, the Office of Management and Budget, Personnel Services, and Computer Services. Being exposed to multiple parts of the agency has allowed Artur to gain valuable expertise in a variety of roles and tasks.
