Nathaniel S. Wright

Nathaniel S. Wright grew up in Queens, New York and earned a B.A. in political science and a MPA from Binghamton University located in upstate New York. While attending Binghamton University he was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar and served as president of the Binghamton University Gospel Choir.

Upon completion of his MPA he served as the City Planner for Binghamton, New York, were he represented the City of Binghamton’s Planning Department and other City agencies such as the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Planning Commission. This duty  required him to research and interpret local and state laws, prepare legal decisions, review small and large scale site plans, coordinate with City, County and State entities, assist residents, community agencies and developers as they navigated through the zoning process. He later accepted a position with the Department of Planning and Economic Development for Broome County, New York were he continued his work as a planner.  

A first-year doctoral student in Public Administration, Nathaniel serves as a Graduate Research Assistant to Professor H. George Frederickson. His research interests include Urban Policy and Administration, Nonprofit Management, Local Government and Diversity in Public Administration.
