Zachary Mohr

Zach Mohr is a Ph.D. Candidate at the School of Public Affairs and Administration at the University of Kansas.  His academic interests include managerial accounting and performance initiatives in local government.  His dissertation is looking at the factors that influence the successful implementation of cost accounting initiatives and how cost accounting can be used to further public performance.  Cost accounting is thought to be important to the work of public financial management professionals but is understudied as an academic topic.  Zach hopes that his work fills both a practical and theoretic gap.  Before going back to school, Zach worked in local government serving as the City Administrator of Cheney Kansas and working in Arkansas City, Kansas and Ottawa, Kansas.
