Maneekwan Chandarasorn

Maneekwa

Maneekwan was born in New York City, New York and grew up in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. Maneekwan received a B.A. in Economics with a Second Class Honors in 2002 from Thammasat University (international program), Bangkok, Thailand. She further pursued her interest in economic policy by achieving Master of Public Policy with Merit from the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia in 2003. Since the year 2003, Maneekwan has served the Royal Thai Government as an economist at the Tax Policy Bureau, Fiscal Policy Office, in The Ministry of Finance of Thailand. Her responsibility involves planning and recommending appropriate tax policy to the Government especially on Environmental Taxation initiative, Tax Expenditure and Fiscal Transparency, and Thailand’s Tax Reform plan. She was also a lecturer at leading universities in Bangkok. Maneekwan is a Ph.D. scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Finance of Thailand, the Royal Thai Government. Maneekwan joined the Ph.D. program in the Department of Public Administration at the University Kansas in fall 2007.
