Leonard Lira

Leonard Lira was raised in Victoria, Texas. He earned a B.A. from Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice and Police Administration. Additionally, he earned an MA in International Relations, an M.P.A., and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Conflict Resolution from Syracuse University. Len is a career Army Officer with 18 years of experience. He is an Army Strategist, currently assigned to teach Strategic Studies and Operational Art at the US Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Chief of Operations for Multi-National Division North, and then Executive Officer for Task Force 2-14 Cavalry in 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division in Iraq. Len also served as an assistant professor teaching political science in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy. Len's current academic and research interests includes collaborative governance, inter-organizational collaboration, and National and Homeland Security policy implementation.
